  • 7.2 Vocabulary Quiz (summative assessment...this will count for a grade)

  • Permeability Model Lab (starch, iodine, water, sandwich bags)
  • Lab write up due Friday
Fri: (Double Activity Day- Awards Assembly and Pep Rally)
  • Students verify grades during class time
  • Turn in lab write up in composition notebook


September 22-26

Mon:
  • 7.1 PowerPoint lecture
Tue:
  • Grade Enzyme Lab in class
  • Discuss Enzyme Lab results
Wed:
  • Notes on lab write ups in assignment composition notebook
  • View prepared slides under the microscope and familiarize yourself with the microscope
Thur:
  • Double Lab Day
    • Directions for Using Compound Microscope (view newspaper letter 'e' and a prepared slide)
    • Observing the Cheek Cells (preparing your own slide with iodine stain)
Fri: ( I am out)
  • Finish lab write up in class
  • Turn in lab composition notebook to the black top
  • Complete notes on sections 7.3 and 7.4
  • Have a great weekend

September 15-19

Mon:
  • PowerPoint lecture over 2.4 (Enzymes)
Tue:
  • Chapter 1 and 2 Test Review
Wed:
  • Chapter 1 and 2 Test
Thur:
  • Enzyme Lab with post activity lab questions
Fri: (Flag football/Afternoon activity schedule)
  • Class time to work on Chapter 7 RNV or look over Chapter 1 and 2 Test

September 8-12

Monday:
  • Lab discussion on Analyze and Conclude question #8
Tuesday:
  • Discussion/correction of lab data (place the corrections in your assignment composition notebook with a grading pen)
  • 2.3 PowerPoint notes on carbohydrates
Wednesday:
  • 2.3 PowerPoint notes on lipids and nucleic acids
Thursday:
  • 2.3 PowerPoint notes on proteins
  • Start on macromolecule flipchart (bring your own paper and supplies)
  • Student workbooks handed out (KEEP AT HOME)
Friday:
  • Finish and turn in flipchart during your class period

September 1-5

Monday: LABOR DAY...NO SCHOOL

Tuesday:
  • Finish PowerPoint lecture over 2.1
Wednesday: 
  • BRING COMPOSITION NOTEBOOK #2...the one for your assignments
  • Chemistry of Life Lab introduction (procedures, materials, set up, safety, etc)
  • HW: complete the handout given for the pre-lab
Thursday: Lab Day (Remember safety in the lab...wear the right shoes and have your hair pulled back)
  • Chemistry of Life Lab 
    • Collect data and share with the other groups
    • Fill in your data chart
  • Make sure you have completed your pre-lab questions
  • Finish your lab write-up for HW
  • Add your data table to the lab write-up
***Don't forget that all lab inquiries must be written in your composition notebook in black or standard blue ink!!!

Friday:
  • Lab due in your class period...must be submitted in your assignment composition notebook...in BLACK or STANDARD BLUE INK
    • Pre-lab questions (Q and A format)
    • Lab write up
    • Data table
    • Analyze and Conclude questions (Q and A format)

THINGS TO KNOW FOR NEXT WEEK:
  1. Your Chapter 1 summative test will be next Tuesday, September 9th
  2. Monday, September 8th will be used as a discussion day...come in with questions
